Come one Come All! Special thanks to the Kansas Aviation Museum , On the Fly Productions, and all the Flying Pigs members who came out to help. The Pretty Prairie Special III is once again in the air.
After only one day the aircraft was risen and placed in a pitch and roll indicative of the highly maneuverable aircraft. The very light weight airplane offered no issues and seemed to want to jump into the air with grace and perfect balance.
After the historic aircraft was secured, a brave mannequin code named "Bobbo" was placed in the pilot seat and demonstrates the arduous task of bailing out. He wears an Air Force flight suit, with the rank of 1st Lt, and a special "duffer award" mirrored helmet. The helmet is adorned with hundreds of small mirrors meant to represent the self-reflective nature of a pilot. "Bobbo" is undoubtably thinking to himself, "Upon reflection... This might not have been the best idea."
A Duffer award of some sort or another has been an aviation standard practice for years. An external representation to remind each other that we all make mistakes but should learn from them and grow as a result.
Happy Flying
